When installing a steam oven, there are a few things to keep in mind so you can fully enjoy the benefits of steam cooking.
We've put together some background information and tips.
When it comes to choosing the right oven for your home, you're spoiled for choice. The most common types of ovens are gas ovens, electric ovens, and steam ovens.

The steam oven combines the functions of a steam cooker and an oven in a single appliance. When steaming, food is gently cooked using steam, which helps preserve vitamins and nutrients to the greatest extent possible. This makes the vegetables extra crisp, the bread crust extra crispy, and the meat extra tender. Cooking in a steam oven is ideal for people who want to eat a healthy diet.
If you decide to install a steam oven, there are a few things to keep in mind during the installation process. A water source is essential for steam cooking so that steam can be distributed throughout the cooking chamber during the cooking process. In some steam ovens, water enters the oven cavity through a recess in the oven floor. Other steam ovens have a water tank, while still others have a direct water connection—just like the BORA X BO.
The permanent water connection is particularly convenient for a steam oven, as the water is supplied and drained automatically without the need to manually fill or refill the tank. A permanent water connection is absolutely necessary when installing the BORA X BO—otherwise, the X BO cannot be operated with all its cooking functions. When planning, therefore, existing fresh water and wastewater lines should be taken into account.
In general, the X BO can be installed flush with the surface or protruding, either in the upper section of a tall cabinet or in the lower section. Installing an oven at counter height is particularly convenient to use and has become almost standard in modern kitchens. Ideally, the oven should be installed so that its bottom edge is roughly level with the countertop. From an ergonomic standpoint, installing the steam oven in a tall cabinet is therefore particularly practical.
Design also plays an important role when installing an oven, as it is one of the central appliances in any kitchen. The X BO's elegant black design and glass fronts make the FlexBack oven an eye-catcher in any kitchen. To show off the stove to its best advantage, you can use the frame spacer included in the package. This allows for flush mounting with various cabinet front thicknesses or, if desired, a protruding installation.
One advantage of the BORA X BO is the automatic steam extraction before the door is opened. This means that steam no longer blows into the cook's face, and people who wear glasses will be happy to have clear lenses. The BORA X BO requires a continuous ventilation cross-section of 160 cm² for this purpose, which is why it is not possible to install the X BO under a countertop or a BORA cooktop.
The ventilation opening is important to allow the moist air flowing toward the back to escape. If the specifications regarding the ventilation cross-section, the return air opening, and the clearance at the rear from the adjacent component are followed during installation in a tall cabinet, there is no risk of condensation forming.
Particularly enthusiastic bakers can also install two BORA X BO units one above the other or side by side. When installing the units one above the other, ensure that there is a continuous ventilation cross-section of 160 cm² between the two units. However, two X BO units cannot be placed directly on top of each other. They should be separated by a structural floor or mounting brackets.

The BORA X BO is a professional steam oven for home use, and as such, it even fits into a standard 56-cm-deep wall cabinet designed for conventional ovens. There must be a gap of at least 3 cm between the back of the appliance and the wall, and the ventilation cross-section described above must be maintained.
Further details to be considered during installation can be found in the installation guide. If you follow the installation tips, nothing will stand in the way of your cooking enjoyment. The BORA X BO will entice even the most reluctant cooks out of the kitchen.
