Every kitchen has its own unique characteristics, depending on the household. One thing, however, always remains the same: The stove—that is, the cooktop—is considered the heart of the kitchen.
Kitchens are as diverse as the people who cook in them. BORA’s modular and compact cooktop extractor systems guarantee unlimited freedom in kitchen design and planning. But what are the differences between the two systems?
This flexibility allows you to customize the cooktops to suit your personal cooking style. Do you regularly cook dishes in a wok? Then the BORA induction wok cooktop is definitely a good choice. Or would you like to be able to barbecue in any season, regardless of the weather? In that case, we recommend our popular BORA Tepan stainless steel grill with two cooking zones. Do you enjoy cooking with gas? Our gas cooktops have everything you could want. In total, there are eight different cooktops to choose from for the Professional model and seven for the Classic model:

The main differences among modular systems lie in their operation: The BORA Professional 3.0 is controlled via elegant, minimalist stainless steel control knobs, which are mounted on the front of the countertop and feature a crystal-clear LED display. All functions are activated easily, conveniently, and intuitively by turning the knobs and tapping the central touchpad. It has a shutter that opens automatically when the shutter button is pressed. When closing, the built-in sensors prevent objects from getting caught. Even at high power settings, the BORA Professional is exceptionally quiet.

The BORA Classic can be controlled directly on the cooktop beneath the air intake nozzle by using an intuitive up-and-down motion of the index finger in a recessed area or by tapping it directly. This means that all key functions are just a touch away. Here, too, the ventilation is exceptionally quiet, so you can chat while cooking without being disturbed. The hood's power automatically adjusts to the current cooking process, eliminating the need for manual intervention.
The air intake vent of the BORA Basic is set within a stainless steel ring that protrudes slightly above the glass-ceramic cooktop. The Basic is the only compact system equipped with a hyper-cooking surface, a radiant heating element cooking surface. The Pure family, on the other hand, stands out for its induction cooktops: the X Pure with a full-surface induction cooktop, which is ideal for large roasting pans thanks to its maximum cooking surface, and the Pure and S Pure with induction cooktops that are more space-saving in terms of dimensions but still offer enough room for cookware of any size.
In induction cooktops, flat circular coils are located beneath the glass-ceramic surface, which generate an electromagnetic field during cooking. This generates heat at the bottom of the pot. For optimal heat absorption, cookware needs a magnetic bottom. In surface induction, an electromagnetic field is generated by wound rectangular coils. The rectangular coils can be connected using the bridge function to form a large cooking surface with enough space for roasting pans, for example. Thanks to automatic pot detection, only the coil on which induction-compatible cookware is placed is activated.
A cooktop with radiant heating elements is what is commonly referred to as a “ceramic cooktop.” However, “Ceran” is actually a brand name for a type of glass-ceramic manufactured by Schott AG. With cooktops of this type, energy is transferred solely through thermal radiation.
The air inlets on the BORA Pure range are slightly recessed into the glass-ceramic surface. The X Pure stands out thanks to its distinctive air inlet nozzle, while the Pure and the S Pure bring a touch of colorful lightness to the kitchen: The intake vents for both range hood systems are available in seven different colors.

Another feature shared by the BORA Pure family of recirculating models is the eSwap filter replacement system. Changing the filter is very easy to do from the top through the inlet nozzle. There is no need to remove any drawers or base panels.
