Marinate meat in minutes, reseal bottles and jars airtight, preserve food for longer. The versatile applications of the built-in vacuum sealing system from BORA are now available beyond the kitchen. With the portable QVac Move device, BORA offers a version for flexible use in holiday homes, motorhomes or second kitchens, and for anyone who is unable to integrate the previously available built-in device into their kitchen worktop.
The QVac from BORA is a practical accessory and a versatile component of the well-designed product ecosystem with which the company supports a positive cooking experience for users. Much more convenient than chamber vacuum sealers or drawers, the BORA QVac can be used in many ways in everyday life: vacuum sealing has become indispensable for storing food in refrigerators and freezers, for sous-vide cooking and – especially popular for barbecuing – for the ad hoc preparation of marinated meat.
As a freestanding version, this powerful appliance can be used flexibly wherever it is needed: in the kitchen, in the pantry or on the central cooking island. It can also be lent to neighbours, family and friends or used seasonally during harvest time or taking advantage of supermarket offers on fresh produce.
Food stays fresh up to three times longer
Every year, around 32 million tons of food are thrown away in European households. In addition to preserving, drying or smoking, vacuum sealing offers consumers a time-saving method of extending the shelf life of some of this food. Vacuum sealing with the BORA QVac keeps fresh food edible for significantly longer – up to three times longer than with conventional storage without air extraction. At the same time, aromas, taste and consistency are optimally preserved, and the natural character of the food is retained. Vacuum sealing protects against environmental influences, moisture and odour transfer – ideal for storage in the refrigerator, for example. What many people do not know is that in the freezer compartment, vacuum sealing reliably protects against freezer burn and thus preserves the quality of the food – without ice crystals, dehydration or loss of flavour.
Barbeque today? Let’s get going!
Barbecue enthusiasts and chefs alike love the marinating function and express flavouring of the BORA QVac. The alternating negative pressure, combined with a special marinating ring on the airtight box, significantly shortens the marinating process. Instead of slowly seeping in over several hours or even days, the marinade is massaged deep into the food in just ten minutes. Flavored oils and tzatziki can be prepared just as quickly.
Speed is also an advantage when it comes to acidic foods. Citrus fruits or vinegar can break down meat if it is marinated for too long. The marinating function not only enhances the flavour, but also speeds up the creative preparation of a wide variety of dishes such as antipasti vegetables, ceviche, tofu satav, graved lax or fruit quark thanks to the intensive flavouring.
Marinating and vacuum sealing with the BORA QVac is quick and requires little energy. For a positive, long-lasting result, it is not only the strong vacuum that is crucial, but also its long-term preservability thanks to the appropriate containers. The BORA QVac Move comes in a minimalist all-black design and a set of 15 bags in three sizes. The included vacuum boxes in a dark smoked glass look are BPA-free, freezer-safe and can be easily cleaned in the dishwasher. In addition to the small and large vacuum boxes with matching marinating rings and vacuum seals for bottles, additional bags are also available as accessories in the BORA online shop.
Also available there is the BORA book series ‘Food’ with delicious recipes on the topics of marinating and sous vide cooking.
