So how often do you need to replace the activated charcoal filter of your BORA system? It depends on your BORA product and its activated charcoal filter:
BORA Professional 3.0, BORA Professional 2.0 & BORA Classic 2.0: For both of these products in the recirculation version there are two options: the BORA air cleaning box flexible (ULBF) and the BORA air cleaning box with 3 activated charcoal filters (ULB3AS). The ULBASX has to be replaced after 600 operating hours. For the ULBF, a replacement is necessary after 300 operating hours.
BORA X Pure: For the BORA X Pure recirculation model, the BORA activated charcoal filter Pure (PUAKF) is the right product. A replacement is necessary after 150 operating hours.
BORA Pure: For the BORA Pure recirculation model, the BORA activated charcoal filter Pure (PUAKF) is the right product. A replacement is necessary after 150 operating hours.
BORA Basic: For the BORA Basic recirculation model, the BORA activated charcoal filter set Basic (BAKFS) is the right product. A replacement is necessary after 150 operating hours.
All BORA products have one thing in common in terms of filter replacement, a built-in function. This function automatically counts down the operating hours. As soon as it lights up, you need to replace the activated charcoal filter:

Activated charcoal basically consists mainly of carbon and graphite crystals with a large inner surface and a highly porous structure. Activated charcoal is used both for cleaning liquids and for odours. In the case of our BORA activated charcoal filter, the pore structure ensures that the activated charcoal traps cooking odours in its pores like a sponge. In comparison to a sponge, the activated charcoal stores the odour molecules in its pores and basically does not release them anymore.
In the BORA Basic activated charcoal filter, the filters have an additional “acidic” ion exchanger layer which ensures that certain odour particles such as amino acids in fish are destroyed and thereby made odourless.
