When you need to change the filter on your BORA cooktop extractor system, the filter service display on the appliance will conveniently tell you. It automatically counts down the operating hours. As soon as the system tells you, please change the activated charcoal filter.

The information varies slightly depending on the appliance:

 

  • BORA Professional, BORA Classic, BORA Basic, BORA Pure series: "F" is displayed.
  • BORA Classic 2.0: i FILT (under 20 hours remaining) or E FILT (under 5 hours remaining) is displayed

How to dispose of BORA filters

Our activated charcoal filters do not contain any hazardous substances as they simply bind odour molecules. Therefore, you can safely dispose of them according to regional guidelines. If you replace the stainless steel grease filter because it is faulty or can no longer be cleaned properly due to prolonged use, dispose of it accordingly, taking into account regional guidelines.

How often should BORA filters be changed?

BORA filters have a service life of 150 to 600 operating hours.

The stainless steel grease filter and other removable parts of the cooktop extractors can be cleaned in the dishwasher. Please note: you cannot clean an activated charcoal filter; this must be replaced when it reaches the end of its service life.

Depending on the system used, an activated charcoal filter lasts for 150 to 600 operating hours. 

You can find the corresponding activated charcoal filters in the BORA online shop. To guarantee efficient performance, you should only use original products.

All BORA systems have an indicator to show you when a filter change is due. If you notice the extractor performance start to wane or odours building up, these are also signs that it’s time to change the activated charcoal filter.
