How to clean the stainless steel grease filter

A clean stainless steel grease filter is essential for your BORA cooktop extractor system to work perfectly. So that you can benefit from top performance at all times, it is important to clean the filter regularly.

How often does the stainless steel grease filter on your BORA system need to be cleaned?

The air inlet nozzle, grease filter and filter tray should be cleaned every time you cook greasy foods or at least once a week. All removable parts can be taken out in a few simple steps and cleaned in the dishwasher. Use a programme with a maximum temperature of 65 °C and ensure that the parts are dry before reinstalling them.

How to change activated charcoal filters

An odour filter (activated charcoal filter) will only be fitted with the stainless steel grease filter if the cooktop extractor is used in recirculation mode.

Activated charcoal filters trap unpleasant cooking odours. As they have a limited capacity, the filter needs to be changed regularly – as soon as the activated charcoal is saturated and no more odours can be filtered through.

The frequency of the filter change depends on your BORA product and the corresponding activated charcoal filter. The appliance tells you when the filter needs changing (filter service display).

How to change the activated charcoal filter

The BORA Pure activated charcoal filter PUAKF must be changed after approximately 150 operating hours or when odours are not being filtered as effectively or extractor performance drops.

  • Switch the appliance off and ensure that it has cooled down fully.

  • Wait until the fan display shows ‘0’.

  • Remove the air inlet nozzle and stainless steel grease filter.

  • Inside the air inlet opening pull the filter replacement cover out through the opening in the filter housing.

  • Take hold of the activated charcoal filter by the grip strap and pull it out as far as possible through the filter housing opening.

  • Take hold of the end of the activated charcoal filter and pull upwards and towards the left until it is completely out of the air inlet opening.

  • Remove the packaging from the activated charcoal filter.

  • Position the activated charcoal filter correctly with the help of the printed symbols (arrow left, grip strap right).

  • Hold the activated charcoal filter at both ends.

  • Bend the activated charcoal filter into a cylindrical shape so that both ends of the filter are opposite each other.

  • Tilt the activated charcoal filter towards you slightly and insert it through the air inlet opening.

  • Guide the left end of the filter into the opening in the filter housing.

  • Push the activated charcoal filter into the filter housing until it will go no further (to do this, you can place one finger between the slats and gradually push the filter

    into the housing).

  • The end position of the activated charcoal filter is reached when the filter has been fully pushed inside the filter housing.

  • Inside the air inlet opening push the filter replacement cover until it comes to a stop in the filter housing opening.

  • Check that the filter replacement cover is positioned correctly.

  • Insert the stainless steel grease filter and the air inlet nozzle.

  • Reset the filter service display.
