Can damp or mould form where a recirculation system is used?

    02/15/2021

    5 min.

Our cooktop extractors effectively draw cooking vapours away.

In the case of recirculation – all of our BORA systems are available as exhaust air or recirculation models – the vapours are filtered through the activated charcoal filter and channelled back into the kitchen. But don’t worry – in a normal indoor climate and with proper installation, there is no risk of condensation or mould.

When installed correctly and in a normal indoor climate, no mould should form

It also helps if you leave the automatic after-run function switched on. In that case, the cooktop extractor continues to run in quiet mode for 20 minutes after cooking. This is essential to dry the activated charcoal and trap odour molecules.

    Mould doesn’t stand a chance

In the video you can see that no mould forms in the base unit and how you can switch on the automatic after-run function on the BORA X Pure.
