BORA Basic: cooktop and cooktop extractor as a compact system for any kitchen

Raubling. BORA Basic, the third product range from the Bavarian manufacturer of innovative cooktop extractors, is the gateway to the BORA world – for any kitchen. It combines all the benefits of the established cooktop extractors (cooking in the fresh air without an annoying hood, space-saving technology, extremely low noise and high-quality materials) with a compact format at an attractive, value-for-money price, without compromising on function or design.

The multi-award-winning BORA Basic is available in three versions: as a Hyper glass ceramic cooktop, induction cooktop or surface induction cooktop, each as a recirculation or exhaust air solution. Thanks to a cleanrate of 100%, the centrally positioned cooktop extractor effectively draws vapours and odours away where they are created: straight from the pot or pan.

Two fans within the cooktop work almost silently and in parallel. BORA Basic can be easily installed in any kitchen and is instantly ready for use, looks great and is easy to operate. The moving parts of the cooktop extractor can be easily dismantled, enabling quick and easy cleaning. The air inlet nozzle and stainless steel grease filter are even dishwasher safe. An indicator on the central touchscreen display notifies users if the activated charcoal filter in the recirculating air system needs to be changed.

The high-performance BORA Basic surface induction cooktop with four cooking zones and an integrated cooktop extractor is a milestone in efficiency and design: the system, with its extra-wide 830 mm cooktop, has four cooking zones of which two on each side can be linked together using a bridging function. It has easy controls using a touch-operated round-slider, a power setting and a high-quality air inlet nozzle with a stainless steel ring. It therefore offers demanding amateur chefs maximum performance from a timeless design. The powerful EC motor is extremely quiet and energy efficient.

In addition, it can also be obtained as an effective Hyper glass ceramic cooktop. Thanks to new technology, the radiant heating element (HiLight) with 3,000 watts, has far more power and achieves optimum cooking results far quicker than conventional radiant heating elements: The heating time is reduced by 30 percent. With a Hyper level, automatic heat-up function and heat retention function, the system enables optimally tailored heating performance. The extensive technical features include a timer function, residual heat display, touch controls, automatic after-and a filter service display.

BORA Basic All Black edition

BORA Basic is also available in an All Black edition. The stylish, understated look is underpinned bythe trendy air inlet ring. Its premium-quality stainless steel elements have been further refined with a special coating, which is also used in the fields of medicine and engine technology. In addition to creating a timelessly elegant black design, the additional surface treatment also improves the hardness as well as the wear and scratch resistance.

Numerous awards for BORA Basic

Since its market launch in 2013, BORA Basic has already won several awards. For example, the compact system received the Interior Innovation Award – Winner 2015 and the Plus X Award as the best product 2015/16. The German Design Council also recognised the outstanding performance in the international product and design environment with the German Design Award 2016.

About the company:

Since 2007, BORA Lüftungstechnik GmbH, headquartered in Raubling, Upper Bavaria, has successfully developed and sold cooktop extractor systems that draw vapours downwards thanks to the use of patented technology. The innovative BORA Pure, BORA Basic, BORA Classic and BORA Professional product ranges are now sold in 58 countries worldwide.

BORA founder Willi Bruckbauer has a vision: the end of the extractor hood. The patented product that he has developed offers multiple benefits: the high-quality systems are more effective than conventional extractor hoods, very quiet, energy saving and easy to clean. They enable maximum design freedom for kitchens and a clear view.

The company received its first award within the scope of the innovation contest 365 Orte im Land der Ideen (365 Places in the Land of Ideas) back in 2009, followed by the German Entrepreneurs’ Award, red dot awards, Plus X Awards, German Design Awards, Iconic Award, German Brand Award, Good Design Award and others.
