As new members of the Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe team, Tim and Mick van Dijke not only bring sporting talent, but also an exceptionally close bond. From mountain bike to classic - the van Dijke twins share their career path, childhood and big goals.

Twin power on two wheels

With Tim and Mick van Dijke, Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe has brought two new talents into the team who not only stand out with their sporting abilities, but also with a very special connection. The twins from Zeeland (Netherlands) switched from mountain bikes to road bikes in 2020 - with success. And because they have always travelled together, Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe has also brought the two into the team as a "package deal".

From mountain biking to classic races on the road

Both brothers fought their way from the world of mountain biking into the road cycling scene - with impressive development. Their sporting journey began with judo before they found their way to cycling through their father. They initially achieved national success before making a name for themselves at European level and competing in the Junior World Cup. In 2020, he finally made the leap from MTB to road cycling. Since then, they have made a name for themselves in the classics of the World Tour and established themselves as specialists for one-day races. Tim in particular has one big goal in mind: to win Paris-Roubaix one day - his absolute favourite race. Both brothers want to recommend themselves for the Tour de France shortlist with top placings. First, however, there are preparation races on the programme for both of them: Mick starts at the Critérium du Dauphiné, while Tim competes in several Belgian one-day races and the Copenhagen Sprint.

A strong duo in their private lives too

Away from cycling, Tim and Mick are not only brothers, but also best friends. They complement each other perfectly - Tim describes himself as a bit clumsy, Mick is considered humorous and communicative. Tim has the upper hand in the kitchen - Mick takes over at the barbecue. Their connection goes far beyond typical sibling relationships: They are a real dream team.

They also maintain a close relationship with their family and friends. Their grandma in particular plays a big role in their lives, and they still have some friendships from their mountain biking days. They regularly visit their former trainers at Christmas. And although they used to live a little further apart - when Tim went to Belgium - Mick has since moved in with him. Today they live in the same place again. They like to spend their free time on the golf course - a relaxed balance to their everyday professional lives.

With their close bond and shared passion for cycling, Tim and Mick van Dijke bring a breath of fresh air to the Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe team. We are excited to see where their journey together will take them.
