BORA Professional receives the German Design Award 2018

Raubling. BORA Lüftungstechnik GmbH, a manufacturer of innovative cooktop extractors, has been presented with the German Design Award 2018, a prestigious international award from the German Design Council, in the highest category of Gold for the new BORA Professional.

The Gold award recognises top achievements in international design and is only awarded to the best of the best. “We are proud to have received yet another award for the new BORA Professional as excellence in every respect was the yardstick we aimed for when developing this product. The award shows that quality and efficiency can go hand in hand with outstanding design. To be recognised in the market, the design has to stand out”, stated company founder Willi Bruckbauer. BORA pursues the vision of the ‘end of the extractor hood’ and revolutionises the design and function of kitchens through pioneering product innovations.

The award is one of the most internationally renowned design competitions and aims to discover and endorse unique design trends. Every year since 2012, awards have been presented to outstanding products that are in their way pioneering in the international design scene. This year, there were 5,000 entries. BORA Professional impressed with its design quality in the kitchens category.

The organisers

The German Design Award is presented by the German Design Council, the national brand and design authority responsible for the high-level task of representing German design. Established as a foundation in 1953 at the initiative of the German Parliament, the German Design Council helps the business world consistently strive to achieve brand value through design. This makes it a world-leading centre of expertise for communication and brand guidance within the field of design. The exclusive network of foundation members not only includes professional associations and institutions but also, and in particular, the owners and brand drivers of many well-known companies.
