Spicy steakburger with homemade BBQ Sauce and fried salad


  1. Wash thyme and rosemary; shake dry. To sear, set the lower side of the BORA Tepan grill to 392°F or the pan to level 8. Then pour the oil onto the Tepan grill or in the pan and sear the steaks for approx. 3 minutes on each side. Salt the steaks before turning. After turning add the butter and sprigs of rosemary and thyme to the Tepan grill or the pan. Cut off the scape of a fresh garlic bulb and add it. Then place the steaks on the upper, non-heated side of the Tepan grill or in the preheated oven (temperature must not exceed 122°F); cover with a lid or cloche and let the steaks rest for 5 minutes.
  2. Remove the outer leaves of the radicchio and cut the radicchio in half. Cut ½ of the radicchio into finger-thick slices. Cut the romaine lettuce into quarters lengthwise. Wash the radicchio and the lettuce and then sauté them on the Tepan grill or in the pan for 2 minutes on both sides.
  3. Toast the brioche burger buns on both sides until golden brown. Start with the bottom half of the brioche burger buns, add a layer of the homemade BBQ sauce followed by the fried salad. Slice the steaks and place them on the prepared bottom half of the brioche burger buns. Place the top half of the brioche burger buns on the steak and enjoy the steakburgers.

  • 2 steaks, each approx. 7 oz.
  • 2 sprigs thyme
  • 2 sprigs rosemary
  • 1 bulb fresh garlic with scape
  • 3½ tbsp. butter
  • 2¼ tbsp. cooking oil
  • salt
  • ground black pepper


  • ½ raddicchio
  • 1 romaine lettuce
