Cleaning is child’s play with BORA

Cleaning is child’s play with BORA

Let’s be honest: few of us look forward to cleaning – especially when it comes to cooktops, extractors or ovens. It’s often a tedious, time-consuming task. With BORA though, cleaning is so simple that it’s actually fun!

BORA impresses with simple cleaning

You’ve spent ages at the stove, prepared a delicious meal and enjoyed it with your guests. Now your friends have gone home and it’s time to tidy up the kitchen and clean the appliances you used. Not exactly your idea of a fun end to a sociable evening.

However, the BORA cooktop extractor systems and BORA X BO steam oven don’t just help people achieve the best results when cooking, they also make it far easier to clean up afterwards. This makes the entire cooking process an enjoyable experience – where even cleaning is child’s play. The rapid cleaning process also saves you lots of time that you can use for more important things.

Cleaning BORA cooktop extractor systems

Our cooktop extractor systems draw away cooking vapours and grease particles from precisely where they are created, directly extracting them from the pot, roaster or pan on the cooktop. Steam and odours no longer have the chance to spread through the room. They are effectively and immediately extracted. The grease particles released while cooking are trapped in the stainless steel grease filter. It’s like cooking in the fresh air.

Cleaning conventional extractor hoods is usually a laborious and time-consuming task. This isn’t the case with BORA cooktop extractor systems: all moving parts that come into direct contact with cooking vapours can be simply removed without any need for tools and cleaned in a dishwasher. Use a programme with a maximum temperature of 65°C and ensure that the parts are dry before reinstalling them.

The cooktop extractor systems’ dishwasher-safe parts are as follows:

  • BORA Professional 3.0: cover flap, grease filter, grease tray and maintenance tray
  • BORA Classic 2.0: air inlet nozzle, grease filter, tray
  • BORA Basic, Pure, X Pure and S Pure: air inlet nozzle, stainless steel grease filter

The cooktops and all other permanently installed parts can generally be wiped clean with a soft cloth and a little cleaning agent. Do not use abrasive or chemically aggressive cleaning agents, steam cleaners or abrasive sponges. Instead, opt for glass ceramic cleaner or mild degreasers. Once clean, wipe away any cleaning agent residues and dry with a clean cloth. For further information on everything you need to know when cleaning your BORA appliance, please see the relevant operating and installation instructions.

  • Cooktop: clean immediately whenever it gets dirty.

  • Activated charcoal filter (recirculation mode only): replace if odours are forming, the extraction power is dwindling or the letter F appears on the fan power level indicator.

Cleaning the BORA X BO

Even with the BORA X BO – the professional steam oven for your home – cleaning is remarkably simple: in the case of light soiling, you can wipe the fully stainless steel oven chamber with a clean sponge cloth, a little washing-up liquid and some warm water before drying it with a clean, soft cloth.

The BORA intensive cleaning programme works like magic, cleaning and drying the appliance automatically – all you have to do is screw the environmentally friendly, recyclable cleaning cartridge into the centre of the oven rack then insert this in the middle shelf space. Press ‘Maintenance’ on the menu and start the intensive cleaning programme. For precise guidance on how to clean the BORA X BO, please see the operating and installation instructions.

Depending how often you bake and steam in your BORA X BO, you should run the intensive cleaning programme every two to four weeks. When cleaning the appliance, ensure there are no trays or tins in the oven chamber. Use kitchen roll to wipe away any large residues, place the BORA food thermometer on the shelf and remove the drain filter.

Replacing the filter in the KFAS and the X BO

Whether for cooktop extractor systems with a recirculation system or the BORA X BO, using the BORA activated carbon filter to eliminate odours is a hobby of ours. Thanks to our innovative filter, the lingering smell of food in your home and on your clothes is a thing of the past. Instead, you can constantly enjoy fresh air in your kitchen.

The BORA activated charcoal filter traps unpleasant cooking odours. Once its absorption capacity has been reached, odours can no longer be filtered and the extraction performance wanes. You should therefore replace the filter as soon as you notice any odours forming. Your BORA system will also notify you when it’s time to replace the filter – all products automatically count down the number of operating hours. The cooktop extractor systems all indicate the need to replace the filter by displaying the letter ‘F’ on the fan’s indicator area.

The unique BORA eSwap system on the compact appliances BORA Pure, X Pure and S Pure makes it possible to replace the filter without having to remove any drawers or plinths. Instead, simply remove the air inlet nozzle, stainless steel grease filter and filter replacement flap. You can then use the strap on the activated carbon filter to easily twist it to the left and lift it out of the air inlet opening. The symbols printed on the new filter make it easy to insert.

For more information, read our article on how to easily replace the filter in a BORA cooktop extractor system.

The BORA X BO also has an activated carbon filter that reliably traps and minimises odours. The appliance uses a filter change icon to indicate when replacement is required. Tap ‘Filter change’ under ‘Maintenance’ in the BORA X BO menu. Select ‘Instructions’ to watch a video on how to replace the filter. This appears directly on the display.

Thanks to the ease of replacing the filter and cleaning all BORA appliances, making them as shiny as new is child’s play. You no longer need to give yourself a headache cleaning the kitchen after entertaining friends or family. Instead, you can simply enjoy your extraordinary culinary experience to the full.
