Data Protection Policy

Thank you for visiting our website and showing interest in our company! The high demands you place on our products and brand are reflected in the high standards we apply when handling your data. Protecting your privacy when using our website is therefore very important to us. Please read and acknowledge the following information regarding how your data is handled:

1) Fundamentals with respect to handling personal data

You can visit our site without providing any personal information. Each time our website is accessed, usage data, such as the date and time of access, the name of the accessed site, the transmitted data quantity and the requesting provider, is transmitted via the respective browser and saved in server log files. This data cannot be allocated to a specific person and is solely used to ensure the fault-free operation of our website and improve what we offer.

Personal data is collected within the framework of users contacting us (e.g. via the contact form or e‑mail). Which data is collected if a contact form is sent can be found in the specific contact form. This data is solely saved and used for responding to your matter or to make contact and the related technical administration. Your data will be deleted after processing your request if you so desire and if no statutory retention obligations prevent this.

In addition, personal data is collected if you register for our e-mail newsletter. We use this data for internal advertising purposes in the form of our e-mail newsletter providing you have expressly consented to this as follows:

"I would like to know how the kitchen revolution will continue and receive the BORA newsletter."

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via the link provided in the newsletter or by sending us a message. After successfully unsubscribing, your e-mail address will be immediately removed from our newsletter distribution list.

2) Cookies

To make visiting our website more attractive and enable the use of specific functions, we use cookies on various pages. These are small text files that are stored on your end device. Several of the cookies we use are deleted when the browser session is ended, i.e. when you close your browser (session cookies). Other cookies remain on your end device and allow us or our partner companies to recognise your browser the next time you visit (persistent cookies). You can set your browser to inform you if cookies are saved and decide whether to accept each individual cookie or exclude the acceptance of cookies for specific cases or in general. If you do not accept cookies, the functionality of our website may be limited.

3) Use of social plugins

3.1 Our website uses social plugins from the social network Facebook, which is operated by Facebook, Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (‘Facebook’). You can find an overview of the Facebook plugins and what they look like here: http://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins

To increase the protection of your data when visiting our website, the plugins are integrated into the page using the ‘2-click’ or ‘Shariff’ solution. The integration ensures that when visiting a page on our website that has social plugins, no connection to the Facebook servers is established. Your browser will only establish a direct connection to the Facebook servers when you activate the plugins and thus consent to the transmission of data. The content of the respective plugins is transmitted directly to your browser and integrated into the website. The plugin then transmits data (including your IP address) to Facebook. We have no influence on the scope of the data Facebook collects with the help of plugins. As far as we know, Facebook receives information about which of our web pages you are currently accessing and have previously accessed. By integrating the plugins, Facebook also receives the information that your browser has accessed the corresponding page on our website if you do not have a Facebook profile or are not currently logged in. This information (including your IP address) is transmitted by your browser directly to a Facebook server in the USA and saved there. If you interact with the plugins, for instance by clicking a ‘Like’ button, the corresponding information will also be transmitted directly by your browser to a Facebook server and stored there. The information is furthermore published on Facebook and displayed to your contacts.

The purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Facebook as well as your rights in this regard and settings options for protecting your privacy can be found in Facebook’s data policy at: http://www.facebook.com/policy.php.

If you are a member of the Facebook social network and would like to limit the collection of data via our web pages and the consolidation of your user data with the data collected about you on the Facebook social network, you should log out of Facebook when visiting our website. You can also completely prevent Facebook plugins from loading in the future through the use of browser add-ons, e.g. the script blocker ‘NoScript’ (http://noscript.net/).

3.2 Our website uses social plugins from the social network Google+, which is operated by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (‘Google’). You can find an overview of the Google plugins and what they look like here: https://developers.google.com/+/plugins

To increase the protection of your data when visiting our website, the plugins are integrated into the page using the ‘2-click’ or ‘Shariff’ solution. The integration ensures that when visiting a page on our website that has social plugins, no connection to the Google servers is established. Your browser will only establish a direct connection to the Google servers when you activate the plugins and thus consent to the transmission of data. The content of the respective plugins is transmitted directly to your browser and integrated into the website. The plugin then transmits data (including your IP address) to Google. We have no influence on the scope of the data Google collects with the help of plugins. As far as we know, Google receives information about which of our web pages you are currently accessing and have previously accessed. By integrating the plugins, Google also receives the information that your browser has accessed the corresponding page on our website if you do not have a Google+ profile or are not currently logged in. This information (including your IP address) is transmitted by your browser directly to a Google server in the USA and saved there. If you interact with the plugins, for instance by clicking a ‘+1’ button, the corresponding information will also be transmitted directly by your browser to a Google server and stored there. The information is furthermore published on Google+ and displayed to your contacts.

The purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Google as well as your rights in this regard and settings options for protecting your privacy can be found in Google’s data policy: http://www.google.com/intl/de/+/policy/+1button.html

If you are a member of the Google+ social network and would like to limit the collection of data via our web pages and the consolidation of your user data with the data collected about you on the Google+ social network, you should log out of Google+ when visiting our website. You can also completely prevent Google plugins from loading through the use of browser add-ons, e.g. the script blocker ‘NoScript’ (http://noscript.net/).

3.3 Our website uses social plugins from the online service, Instagram, which is operated by Instagram LLC., 1601 Willow Road, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA (‘Instagram’). The plugins are marked with an Instagram logo, for instance in the form of an ‘Instagram camera’. You can find an overview of the Instagram plugins and what they look like here: http://blog.instagram.com/post/36222022872/introducing-instagram-badges.

If you access a page on our website that has such a plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection with Instagram’s servers. The plugin content is transmitted directly to your browser from Instagram and integrated into the page. This integration informs Instagram that your browser has accessed the corresponding page on our website even if you do not have an Instagram profile or are not currently logged into Instagram. This information (including your IP address) is transmitted by your browser directly to an Instagram server in the USA and saved there.

If you are logged into Instagram, Instagram can directly assign the visit to our website to your Instagram account. If you interact with the plugins, for instance by clicking an ‘Instagram camera’ button, the corresponding information will also be transmitted directly by your browser to an Instagram server and stored there. The information is furthermore published on your Instagram account and displayed to your contacts.

The purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Instagram as well as your rights in this regard and settings options for protecting your privacy can be found in Instagram’s privacy policy: https://help.instagram.com/155833707900388/.

If you do not want Instagram to directly assign data collected via our website to your Instagram account, you must log out of Instagram before visiting our website. You can also completely prevent Instagram plugins from loading through the use of browser add-ons, e.g. the script blocker ‘NoScript’ (http://noscript.net/).

4) Use of videos (e.g. YouTube, Vimeo)

4.1 This website uses the YouTube embedding function to display and play videos from the provider ‘YouTube’. The extended data protection mode is used, which, according to the provider, does not initiate the storage of user information until video playback is started. If playback of an embedded YouTube video is started, the provider ‘YouTube’ uses cookies to collect information about the user’s behaviour. According to information from ‘YouTube’, this is done for purposes such as recording video statistics, improving user-friendliness and preventing misuse. Regardless of whether the embedded video is played, each time this website is accessed, a connection is established with the ‘DoubleClick’ Google network, which can initiate further data processing procedures without our influence.

You can find more information about data protection at ‘YouTube’ in the provider’s privacy policy at: https://www.google.de/intl/en/policies/privacy/

4.2 Plugins from the video portal Vimeo, operated by Vimeo, LLC, 555 West 18th Street, New York, New York 10011, USA, are integrated into our website. If you access a page on our website that has such a plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection with Vimeo’s servers. The plugin content is transmitted directly to your browser from Vimeo and integrated into the page. This integration informs Vimeo that your browser has accessed the corresponding page on our website even if you do not have a Vimeo profile or are not currently logged into Vimeo. This information (including your IP address) is transmitted by your browser directly to a Vimeo server in the USA and saved there.

If you are logged into Vimeo, Vimeo can directly assign the visit to our website to your Vimeo account. If you interact with the plugins, for instance by clicking a ‘Vimeo camera’ button, the corresponding information will be transmitted directly by your browser to a Vimeo server and stored there. The purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Vimeo as well as your rights in this regard and settings options for protecting your privacy can be found in Vimeo’s privacy policy: http://vimeo.com/privacy

If you do not want Vimeo to directly assign data collected via our website to your Vimeo account, you must log out of Vimeo before visiting our website.

The Google Analytics tracking tool is automatically integrated into videos from Vimeo that are embedded into our website. This is Vimeo’s own tracking method, which we have no access to and cannot influence. Google Analytics uses tracking cookies, which are text files that are saved on your computer and allow your website usage to be analysed. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website is generally transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. You can prevent the storage of Google Analytics tracking cookies by changing the appropriate settings in your browser software; we would like to make you aware, however, that if you do so, you may not be able to use all of the functions of the website to their full extent. You can also prevent Google from collecting and processing the data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (incl. your IP address) by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

As an alternative to the browser plugin or in browsers on mobile devices, please click on the following link to set an opt-out cookie which prevents future data collection by Google Analytics within these websites (this opt-out cookie only works in this browser and for this domain; if you delete your cookies in this browser, you have to click on the link again):

5) Web analytics service

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service from Google Inc. (‘Google’). Google Analytics uses ‘cookies’, text files that are saved on your computer and allow for an analysis of your website usage. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website is generally transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

If IP anonymization is activated on this website, your IP address will first be truncated by Google within the European Union member states or in other states party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the USA and then truncated. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to create reports about website activities and to provide additional services to the website operator in conjunction with the use of the website and the Internet.

The IP addresses transmitted by your browser within the framework of Google Analytics are not combined with other data from Google. You can prevent the storage of the cookies by changing the appropriate settings in your browser software; we would like to make you aware, however, that if you do so, you may not be able to use all of the functions of the website to their full extent. You can also prevent Google from collecting and processing the data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (incl. your IP address) by downloading and installing the plugin available at the following link: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

<a onclick="alert('Google Analytics has been deactivated');" href="javascript:gaOptout()">deactivate Google Analytics</a>

We expressly note that this website uses Google Analytics with the ‘_anonymizeIp()’ extension and therefore IP addresses are only further processed after truncation in order to prevent a direct link to a specific person.

6) Your rights and contact options

You have the right to receive information about your personal data at no cost as well as, if applicable, a right to correct, block or delete this data. If you have questions regarding the collection, processing or use of your personal data, please contact us. The same applies to information, blocking, deletion and correction requests pertaining to your personal data and for revoking issued consents. You can find the contact address in our legal notice (imprint).
